Lyrical Summary

LYNX & KEMO
Lyrical Summary

Global Enemies:
Film scenes of Matrix, Minority Report and Brazil come to mind. Powerful, wicked systems are in place to control the people and an empathetic young man rebels.. Leading a revolution to a brighter tomorrow. The message may be calm and subtle, but it is powerful and clear: Reflect… Rebel… Revolt!

Carnivale:
Inspired by the mystical world of the HBO series Carnivale, Kemo explores the world between here and there, between the future and the past, between heaven and hell. His lyrics contain modern English, Lingo from Clockwork Orange and even Aramaic, the language of the Bible. There is a struggle in this song, a final battle between good and bad. We are left with no final resolution, but a sense of hope and determination. The voice, the content and the language of this song are so full of magic, one is drawn into a realm of mysticism.

Apocalypse:
The setting is a metropolis. The end is near. Scenes of Strange Days, Bladerunner and Dark City come to mind. Here there seems to be no hope, no chance to escape the doom that is programmed to happen. Kemo very visually describes the setting and the mood. One is quickly drawn in. There are so many references to his musical influences, decrypting his lyrics is quite a task.

„Optical blur – falling down at rush hour” surely refers to the amok running in Falling Down, possibly also to Ed Rush & Optical. “Unsung” is a song by Helmet and “Past the Mission” is a song by Tori Amos. “ March of the pigs” and “Pretty Hate Machine” are both NIN releases. “Juxtaposition” may be referring to Tricky, whereas “Everything’s Zen” is surely a reference to the band Bush. “Gray men stealing time” is a reference to the (not just) kids movie Momo. An there are many more! The lyrics are so profound and contain a maze of riddles, trickery and musical references. Wicked!

You are being lied to:
No hidden agenda, no lyrical trickery, no beating around the bush. Raw facts. Straight truth. Kemo gets very political on this track. Very straight to the point. We have been lied to and continue to be lied to on a daily basis. By the media, by politicians, by our teachers with their lie infested textbooks. It is vital that we rethink how we are living and question everything we hear and read. Kemo drops a ton of words, names and phrases at the end of the track. All topics we are being lied to about. Much food for thought and Google research. The message is simple, clear and powerful: Stop. Think. React.
